William M. Daley, 71, of Mio passed away at Munson Grayling Hospital in Grayling on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018.

Bill was born in West Branch on Aug. 23, 1947, to Collie and Alice (Kennedy) Daley. He graduated from Mio High School with the class of 1966 and graduated from college with a bachelor’s degree in social work. Bill served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, receiving two Purple Hearts. He worked for Whaley Steel for many years. Bill was a member of the Luzerne American Legion Post 162 and the Mio Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was a Life Member-at-Large of AMVETS. Bill enjoyed flying drones, rock polishing, creating jewelry with his stones and traveling in his motor home.

Bill is survived by his partner of 18 years, Bonnie Plyman of Mio; his children, Chantel and Steve Blamer of League City, Texas, and Christine and Nick Matthews of Mio; his sister, Tammy Daley of Tennessee; his brother, David Daley, also of Tennessee; and his grandchildren, Kaylea (Jake) Stahl, Tayler Blamer, Scott Blamer, Wyatt Blamer, Gunnar Matthews and Gustav Matthews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Tony Daley.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the Luzerne American Legion Post.
