Two injured in two-vehicle accident

FAIRVIEW –– Two people were taken to Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital for treatment of injuries following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Miller Road and Abbe Road Sept. 17.

The Oscoda County Sheriff Department received a report of a two vehicle accident with possible injuries at the intersection at approximately 4:43 p.m.

According to the initial investigation, a Chevrolet pickup driven by a 29-year-old Fairview man was reportedly attempting to turn south onto Abbe Rd. and made a wide turn, colliding with a Pontiac driven by a 24-year-old Fairview woman, who was westbound on Miller Rd.

The drivers were the only occupants of both cars.

Deputies from the Oscoda County Sheriff Department, the Fairview Fire Department and Oscoda County EMS responded to the call and were later assisted by the Michigan State Police and Tri-Township EMS.

The investigation showed that both drivers were wearing seatbelts. The matter is still under investigation as of Sept. 20.
