Shirley J. Muirhead, 80, of Curran passed away at her home Monday, March 27, 2017.

Shirley was born in Curran on May 27, 1936, to Glen and Evelyn (Bugg) Conrad. She owned and operated Shirley’s Curran Cafe for many years. After her retirement, she and her husband Doug operated Shirley’s Wood and Things, crafting unique wood items.

Shirley is survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy Conrad; her nieces, Pat Palmer, Sue (Rick) Sawyer, Judy (Gary) Schuhmacher and Beth Beson; her nephews, Tom (Jackie) Conrad and Tim (Kelly) Conrad; and several great-nieces and -nephews and great-great-nieces and -nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doug Muirhead; her brother, Bill Conrad; her sister and brother-in-law, Cathryn and Lester Palmer; and her niece, Barbara Palmer.

Special thanks to Heartland Hospice of West Branch, especially to Hannah Miller and Kim Edwards; and to her caregivers, Lisa Bloom, Paula Taylor and Pat McCrackin.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will take place in May with interment of ashes at Curran Cemetery, Curran.

These arrangements were handled by Lashley Funeral Home, Mio.
