Roscoe O. Lee, 82, was welcomed into Heaven Nov. 17, 2017, after a busy, productive life serving the Lord. He passed peacefully at home after a four-year battle with mesothelioma, with his loving wife Sylvia by his side. He was a resident of Fairview for many years, and recently moved to Fremont.

Roscoe was the oldest son of Arthur and Doris Lee, and grew up on the family fruit farm near Bangor. He was a graduate of LeTourneau University and Moody Bible Institute. In 1959 he married his first wife, Rachel, and together they served on mission fields in Congo, Africa, as well as several Christian camping ministries in Northern Michigan. They also made several mission trips to Russia. His legacy includes the hospitals, churches and schools he helped build and electrify in Congo, the lives impacted by his teaching, and his children and grandchildren who are following him in the faith.

Roscoe also served as township supervisor of Comins Township for eight years.

He is survived by their two sons, Stephen (Kathy) and Jonathan (Andrea); six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. In 2011 Roscoe married Sylvia Raquet, who survives, as well as her two children David (Tori) and Debra (Lance) Safford, and three grandchildren. Also surviving are his three brothers, Ken (Jean), Phil (Jan) and David; and his two sisters, Cynthia (Dick) Robertson and Nancy (Joe) Capps.

Roscoe was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Rachel; and his sister, Artha Mae Neuenfeldt.

Visitation and services will be Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the Fairview Mennonite Church. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with services at 2 p.m. Pastor David Price will officiate. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery.
