Richard A. Pavlik, 76, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, at his home in West Branch.

He was born July 22, 1941, in Warren to John and Anna (Delinski) Pavlik. Richard graduated from Mio High School in 1960. After graduation, he went on to meat-cutting school and worked at a butcher shop in Mio. He was also employed as a model mold-maker for the automotive industry in Detroit, and then owned and operated two woodworking/restoration businesses (The Silver Saw), one in Mio and one in Rose City, for 25 years. On June 4, 1983, he married Iris (Balla) Delmotte at the Mio Methodist Church. Richard enjoyed traveling, motorcycles, building projects and restoring cars. He also joined the local car club. Richard had two rescue pets. His cat, Niki, was rescued from the gas station and his basset hound, Scarlett, from the shelter. Scarlet was his constant companion. She not only rode in the car and truck, but also in a custom-built cage on the back of the motorcycle.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Iris Pavlik; son, Richard Pavlik Jr.; stepchildren, Blaine (Erin) Delmotte and Lisa (Daniel) Elsholz; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and siblings, John Pavlik and Virginia Nixon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Carol Attard.

A memorial service will be held at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, at 2 p.m. with visitation starting at 1 p.m. Pastor Jody Coon will officiate. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorial contributions can be made to the Ogemaw chapter of the American Cancer Society.
