No injuries in Mio house fire

Posted

MIO –– There were no injuries reported in a structure fire on Savage Drive Wednesday, Aug. 30.

Tri-Town Fire Department responded to the call, getting assistance from the Luzerne Fire Department and Oscoda County EMS was on the scene as well.

Tri-Town Fire Chief Dave Stenzel said he believed a parrot was lost in the fire but that no one else was home during the fire. The fire was reported at 10:50 a.m. and firefighters cleared the scene at approximately 1:30 p.m.

“I believe the whole thing was totalled,” he said. “It looks like the fire may have started in a bathroom, but the cause is undetermined.”

Stenzel said there was nothing suspicious about the fire at that time as the homeowner wasn’t home, but they are still looking into its cause.
