Larry Juengel, 66, of Radford, Va., passed away April 25, 2019, after a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 16, 1953, to Rose Marie (Kempf) Tweedly and Lawrence Juengel in Rochester. Larry joined the Marines at age 17 and served his country for 21 years. He retired as a gunnery sergeant. Larry also retired from the Secret Service in Washington, D.C., and was a member of Luzerne American Legion Post 162. Larry loved to hunt and spend special time being Grampy to Colton and Levi, who lived next door.

Surviving are mother, Rose Marie Tweedly of Luzerne; wife, Patricia of Radford, Va.; three brothers, Ronald (Vicki) of Arizona, Stanley (Linda) of Luzerne and Victor (Kathy) of Rochester Hills; former wife, Lynn of Florida; one daughter, Michelle of Florida; one son, Michael of Baltimore, Md.; two granddaughters, Charlotte and Ruby of Baltimore, Md.; several nieces and nephews; and his dogs, Traveler and Lucy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence; stepfather, Ray; and grandparents, Stan and Lillian Kempf and Mildred and Carl Juengel.

Interment of ashes has taken place at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Virginia. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Luzerne American Legion Post 162.
