Kischnick gives update on new county building delay

MIO — Oscoda County Commissioner Jack Kischnick gave a small update on the Oscoda County government building bidding process at the June 26 board of commissioners meeting.

Kischnick said after getting in contact with a representative at Wolgast, he was told estimators are reviewing bids received against the coverage requirements, and he expected a summary to be available within days of the meeting.

Kischnick said after the summary is available, Wolgast will pull any items that need to be considered above the coverage allowed by insurance for the commissioners’ approval.

Kischnick said Wolgast is still reviewing bids for the construction of the parking lot, exterior lighting and possibly more.

He said the budget review is still expected to be completed by the previously extended July 2 deadline.
