Kids invited to help prepare for the holidays with Santa’s Workshop

Posted

MIO –– Local children and families will have the opportunity to meet Santa and decorate their own toys during the Oscoda County Library’s first Santa’s Workshop Saturday, Dec. 9.

Programming Clerk Beth Barron said each child in attendance will get to visit with Santa and paint wooden toys and gifts to help Santa get ready for Christmas this year.

Cookies and juice will be available during that time and Barron said she has no idea how many to expect as this will be the first time the library is hosting the event.

“What I am looking forward to is getting to see the kids enjoying and visiting with Santa and feeling like they are helping him get ready for Christmas,” she said. “I like watching the kids get excited.”

Barron said she hopes many parents and grandparents in the area will bring their kids out to the free event. It is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. and go until approximately noon at the Oscoda County Library located at 430 8th St. in Mio.
