Irene I. Willobee, 95, of Mio passed away at The Villa at Rose City on Monday, July 31, 2017.

Irene was born in Sheridan on June 30, 1922, to Ernest and Esther (Beardsley) Griggs. She owned and operated Annex Grocery in Luzerne with her husband Ted for many years. She also worked eight years at Bear Archery, and had also worked at the Mio Laundromat, and served as a foster grandmother for 18 years at Mio AuSable Schools.

Irene is survived by eight children, Douglas Marshall, Dave (Linda) Marshall, Mike (Sandi) Willobee, Sue Willobee, Sandy (Pat) Sposato, Mark Willobee, Jody (Barb) Willobee and Jeff (Barb) Willobee; two nieces; and many marvelous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Marshall; and her second husband, Edward “Ted” Willobee.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned. These arrangements were handled by Lashley Funeral Home, Mio.
