Gertrud Barlick of Luzerne passed away July 29, 2017, after 14 months of pancreatic cancer and heart failure.

She was born Nov. 29, 1932, in Ansbach, Germany, daughter of Anna and Franz. Gertrud was a nurse in Germany and an American homemaker, married for more than 61 years. Her hobbies included casino slots, knitting, bingo and word search puzzles. She said her daily rosary each night and attended St. Mary’s in Mio until unable from osteoporosis.

She is survived by husband, Paul L. Barlick; son, Stephen (Kathi) Barlick; daughter, Kathleen (Steve) Huntley; grandson, Nathan Paul Barlick; and granddaughter, Emily Susan Barlick.

Memorial contributions may be made to St Mary’s Catholic Church in Mio, Munson Hospice or Oscoda County Council on Aging, which all served her well. Friends or family may also have a Mass in her name at a Catholic church of choice.

The family will have a Mass at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at St Mary’s (not a funeral Mass). Interment will be at a later date in Luzerne Township Cemetery.
