David Baker, 53, of Luzerne passed away at Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital on Monday, Dec. 4, 2017.

David was born in Dearborn on Dec. 4, 1964, to Edward V. and Stephanie (Rellinger) Baker. He graduated from Lincoln Park High School with the class of 1983. He served his country in the U.S. Army. David worked as a HILO mechanic. He moved to Luzerne seven years ago from Downriver. David was a member of the Luzerne American Legion. He loved being outdoors enjoying nature.

David is survived by his mother, Stephanie Baker; his children, Daniel Baker of California and Sean Baker of Southgate, and their mother Lisa Curtiss, also of Southgate; his brother, Russell (Sandy) Baker of Woodhaven; and his sisters, Diane (Thomas) Oberhausen of Dearborn Heights, Cheryl (Frank) Johnson of Melvindale and Penny (William) Clifford of Southgate.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Victor Baker; his sister, Cindy Waske; and his brother, Edward Baker.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will be held Sunday, Dec. 17, from 1-5 p.m. with services and military honors at 2 p.m. at the Taylor Eagles Club, 23900 Goddard Rd., Taylor, MI 48180. These arrangements were handled by Lashley Funeral Home, Mio.
