OSCODA COUNTY — Former Mio AuSable teacher Jeffery Earl Csernyik, who was originally charged in June with assault and battery and indecent exposure, pleaded down to lesser charges Feb. 3.

Csernyik pleaded to one count of assault, three counts of disturbing the peace county ordinance and one count of disorderly person — obscene conduct.

According to County Prosecutor Kathleen Solomon the charges stemmed from unwanted physical contact and the exposure of private parts of the body in an open manner.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 7, at 9:30 a.m., where he can face a maximum of 93 days in jail.
